Ann Bason – Manager, Bishop Office

Bilingual

Ann brings 15 years of experience as a middle and high school teacher in private, public, and charter schools to H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection. Throughout her teaching career, she had the opportunity to work with students from a wide variety of cultural, socioeconomic, and learning backgrounds, including young people with ADD, ADHD, dyslexia, mental health challenges, and other learning disabilities. She also has firsthand experience caring for and working with children on the autism spectrum.

Known for being solution-oriented, flexible, and adaptable, Ann believes in creating space for people with different learning styles, abilities, and needs. One of the greatest gifts of her career has been the opportunity to learn from the diverse students and families she has worked alongside.

Her passion for supporting individuals and families is also deeply personal. Growing up as the youngest of five children, Ann has firsthand experience navigating the challenges of having a sibling living with mental illness. When her sister was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia as a teenager, Ann’s family leaned on the support of services and resources available in their small-town community in Central New York. That experience helped shape her understanding of the importance of connection, support, and access to resources for families navigating difficult seasons.

Ann is bilingual and especially enjoys connecting with and supporting Spanish-speaking families. She is grateful for the opportunity to bring her experience, compassion, and love for people to the H.E.A.R.T.S. Connection community.
